Work with us

Work where you really get to know every child.

Kinderdagpaleis Boerhaave is a small-scale daycare on the Boerhaaveplein in Amsterdam-Oost. We are always keen to hear from childcare professionals who want to give children aged 0 to 4 a great second home.

Why Boerhaave

Small enough to know each other

The bright group room with play mats, a children’s table and a sofa

Small-scale

No big organisation with layers in between. You know the children, their parents and your colleagues, and they know you.

Familiar faces

Children benefit from having familiar people around them. That is why we are building a steady team that knows the group inside out.

A mixed-age group

Babies, toddlers and preschoolers together. You see a child grow up, from their first settling-in day to their farewell on the way to primary school.

What we offer

Good for the children starts with good for you

  • Pay according to the CAO

Your pay and terms of employment follow the CAO Kinderopvang (the childcare collective agreement).

  • A say in your schedule

Together we look for a schedule that fits your life, within what the group needs.

  • Travel allowance

You receive an allowance for your commute.

  • Training budget

Time and budget to keep your skills up to date and develop further.

  • Childcare discount

A discount on childcare for your own children.

  • Room to grow

Want to grow further? Together we discuss which direction you want to take within the organisation.

What you bring

A heart for children, and your papers in order

Childcare is a profession with clear rules, and rightly so. Parents trust us with their child. This is part of it.

  • A suitable diplomaA diploma that qualifies you as a childcare professional under the CAO Kinderopvang, or you are training for one.
  • VOG and PersonenregisterA certificate of conduct (VOG) and registration in the Personenregister Kinderopvang. We then link you to our organisation.
  • Paediatric first aidA valid paediatric first aid certificate, or the willingness to get one.
  • Working within the ratioWe always work according to the staff-to-child ratio (BKR): enough colleagues in the group for the number of children.

Study and work

BBL and internships

Are you training to become a childcare professional? We are happy to think along about a BBL work-study route or an internship, with schools such as ROC van Amsterdam and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Get in touch to discuss the options.

How it goes

From first message to first day

  1. You apply

Fill in the form on this page, with your CV and a few sentences about why you would like to work with us.

  2. Getting to know each other

A conversation on location. You see where you will work, we get to know you.

  3. Personenregister

Before you join the group, you register in the Personenregister Kinderopvang and we link you to us. This is required by law, also for a trial session.

  4. Paid half-day trial

You spend half a day working in the group, and you get paid for it. That way we both see whether it clicks.
