Learning from each other
Young children pick things up from the older ones, for example when learning to walk and talk.
Our palace
Kinderdagpaleis Boerhaave is a small daycare on the Boerhaaveplein, close to Oosterpark. Children develop best when they feel safe: with familiar faces, in a vertical group.

Our vision
A child who feels comfortable starts to play. And through play, a child develops: in movement, in language and in dealing with others. That is why everything here starts with emotional safety.
Every child is unique and develops at their own pace. We offer activities that suit their age, but there is always room to step away from them if a child is not ready yet.
We raise your child together with you, and we collaborate with each other closely.
The mixed-age group

Young children pick things up from the older ones, for example when learning to walk and talk.

Older children learn to look out for the youngest, and are happy to lend a hand.

Your child does not have to move on to a new group and settle in all over again. That makes the group feel more like a family.
The rhythm of the day
Babies follow their own rhythm of feeding and sleeping, agreed with you. For the older children, the day follows a set order.
At drop-off there is a short handover: how was the night, is there anything special?
Then the day starts together in the group.
Play, indoors or outdoors, and activities that suit their age.
Children who still nap twice a day go to bed during the morning.
In the middle of the day we eat together at the table: a warm, home-cooked lunch.
Then rest or sleep for those who need it.
Playing, crafts, reading aloud or going outside, with something to eat and drink in between.
At pick-up you hear how the day went.

Food and organic
All products in the daycare are organic. The meals we prepare each day are made with organic ingredients. Even the diapers and wet wipes are carefully chosen and organic.
We eat together at the table, and we take our time. Children learn to eat and drink by themselves, at their own pace. We take allergies and wishes based on religion or beliefs into account.
The rooms
Our rooms are furnished like a home, with enough to discover and not so much that it becomes restless.
And right outside the door is the Boerhaaveplein, in Amsterdam-Oost, close to the Oosterpark.

A look inside

Settling in
Before your child starts, we have an intake conversation about food, sleep and what your child needs. We write these agreements down, so everyone in the group knows about them.
After that, we build up settling in gradually, with slightly longer days each time. We agree the schedule with you, because not every child settles in at the same speed.

Come and see
During a tour you see the rooms, meet the team and can ask all your questions.
